2007 EL. I have done research on this issue and couldn't seem to find the answer, but I tried some potential fixes and that did not solve my issue. Hopefully you guys have the fix!

Realized after I turn the car off, when I open the driver door, the radio stays on and the headlights stay on, which normally turn off if I lock the car. Basically, the car still acts as if all doors are closed. I tested all doors and it is definitely the driver door. When I open the passenger door, there is a beep and a message in the display that says that door is open. Nothing for when the driver door is open. There is no message of door ajar.

I sprayed down all of the door latch mechanisms and soaked them with WD40 and electrical connection cleaner. Open and closed the door several times. That did nothing.

Any ideas???

Coming up on 300,000 miles!!!!

Thanks, do you happen to know the part number and how to replace?

I am not sure this is the part number this is what comes up when I search for the door ajar switch. Link ---> 1L2Z-14018-AC

You have to remove the inner door panel and it is in the area of the lock but beyond that, I've never changed one. I changed a bunch of the old plunger style ones years ago but not this type.

Use this search in google: "changing the driver's door ajar switch in a 2007 Expedition"

This shows how to get the door panel off.

HEre is a good one to watch regarding the door ajar switch

Fantastic! Thanks again.

I found the part on Amazon, says that it fits the car so I’ll order it: Motorcraft SW6032 Door Jamb Relay https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C5HTN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xOdsAb1F19XXT
