I'm in the process of running new speaker wire from an aftermarket amp to the speakers in a 2012 Expedition. It appears to be virtually impossible to get to the opening for the driver's door due to the emergency brake assembly and other stuff in the way.

Has anyone done this? Any tips? I'm thinking my only chance is to pull the boot out in the door jamb, then run a fish tape from the jamb to under the dash and hope for the best.

Really, the effort to reward ratio of running new wires to door speakers is pitifully low. The wires there would/will support a few hundred watts. And if you are putting that much actual power into a door speaker, you have other issues, including tinnitus. (ask me how I know)

Anyone who could hear a difference in speaker wires to a door in a car is pulling your leg, or even their own.

When I did the system in my 07, I pulled the e-brake/bracket and used a piece of RG6 to push through the boot into the door. From start to finish, including time to smoke a couple cigarettes and scratch my head, I think it took about 40 minutes to get 2 sections of 12ga in.
