Drivers window reg pulled loose

Last month I hit the window down button at the post office & heard a thunk, but the window stayed up. I could hear the regulator move up & down using the button after that but it was definitely no longer attached to the glass. The glass is not frozen or jammed, I can move it up & down by hand, but it takes a fair amount of pressure to move it.

Later, I got into it & the adhesive had let go. There's a couple of shoes or short channels the glass rides in(glued)which are riding in a rail that's part of the regulator assembly. All of it seemed to be still in working order, so I cleaned off the old glue best I could & re-glued using E6000. I let it set up for several days, but 1st try rolling down it came apart again.

Any ideas what to try next?

I just bought a '98 Expy a couple of months ago and same thing had happened to mine. Must be a common occurrence. Exact same window exact same thing. I also tried exact same fix E6000 and it didn't work for me either. So I researched it and epoxy seemed to be the fix. So I bought some 5 min stuff, cleaned out the metal clips with a screwdriver and my grinder. mixed up the epoxy put it in the clips bolted them in and quickly inserted the glass in and rolled up the window and left it up for a day.

Thanks! Good to hear epoxy did the trick! Soon as I get my F150 out of the driveway the Expy window is next.

Ford sells a special epoxy for securing the glass into the carrier. I've used it on several cars and it never failed. Now I don't try to open the window when it's frozen in place.

That was the strange thing, it was during a stretch of warm weather when it let go. Guess sometime past I did something like that to weaken the bond....
