dvd problem

I have an 03 Eddie Bauer addition with the read dvd. It will work for about 20 minutes and then the pictures goes off. The sound is still going. Any ideas?

is any part of that A/V system abnormally warm?
also it could just be old and worn out, maybe it has a lot of hours on it.
do your routine maint. check as well, secure all connections disconnect any aftermarket acc. that may be connected, try various media types.

those are all the things I would think to do if it were happening to me. hope it helps even if just helping to localize it though process of elimination.
