I have an opportunity to purchase a salvaged 3rd gen 2014 expedition with 5.4 that was hit on the side passenger rear and was totalled out by insurance. I was thinking of using the engine and transmission plus other components to make it work from the donor vehicle (donor vehicle will cost $500 and the odometer reads 57k)

My question is will the engine and trans swap or just engine or neither if anyone knows?

Thank you

The engine should work, but you might have to swap off everything electrical that plugs into it. The transmission is a different story, though. The 2014 uses the six speed 6R 80, which is incompatible with your PCM. You're dealing with different generations, so the PCM from the 2014 will not plug in to your main harness or anything else on the truck.

Would you be able to take the whole harness and pcm to make this swap possible

Anything is possible with enough time and money, but unfeasible. I don't believe any of the other modules in the truck are compatible. So you'd need to replace the instrument cluster, BCM, and a bunch of other control modules with it, as well as rewiring everything.
