I'm not sure about the swap. I can't imagine it being too easy or inexpensive. But wouldn't a 302 be a little small for an Expedition?

Depends on how much Tylenol and time you have. The setups are very different. The 5.4 and 4.6 are more close to the same build. A 302 would involve wiring, mounts, transmission (I believe), and more headache depending on the 2wd or 4wd setup. You will also find in the engine bay that the intake setup will be completely different as most of the 302 setups pull air from the passenger side. Al of this said please post pics of the progress if you begin it all.

yeah not to mention how you would control the trans. Bauman engineering makes a controller for the E40D.

If you were looking that route the only swap i could see being easy would be a 4x4 f150 or f250 or bronco from 94-96 as the ecm and wiring harness would plug/play

There are a couple of users on here who have done a diesel swap before. One had a write-up for it, although i believe it was on a 2nd gen. I read them a couple months ago though. If I come across them, I will put them up for you.

EDIT: This was the one I was thinking of, like I said, its into a 2nd gen, but still it might help you just to see where the general headaches might be. Anything is possible with a little ambition haha

Thanks, kinda a diesel guy at heart anyway. Trying to build a old 12v for weekend drag racing.
