Does anyone use the Sta-Bill protection product to combat the issues with ethanol based fuels. As you know ethanol extracts water from the atmosphere and deposits it inside the fuel system which caused corrosion.

It isn't really an issue with vehicles that are used every day. The fuel is constantly being 'turned over' and doesn't have time to do any damage. If you're storing it, then protection from a product like Sta-Bil 360 becomes necessary (especially if it has a metal fuel tank)

This is why ethanol is such a big issue for boats, where large quantities of fuel sit in the tank for extended periods of time. The fuel has time to absorb a lot of moisture and eventually phase separate.

Thanks Toney. I use the Expedition in spurts. Just completed a 3500mile trip towing a tent trailer for a month. The Expedition performed flawlessly. Now I will give the beast a rest. So the sta-bill could help why resting for awhile. Although we just got a station that sells pure gas at 88 octane, which would solve the issue. Mike
