Howdy all...
My 8 plugs and 8 coils replace went well... Very happy with how the engine responds now... Much MUCH improved! (no shakes for the most part)
Before doing all that though, I noticed a bunch of elect. tape around the two areas I've highlighted in the attached image.
#1 arrow - the rubber 90deg. boot is cracked and hanging by a thread... I push it up into position & the engine idles way down to -almost stalling- & then recovers ok... I can hear it sucking air & likely making me run rich.
#2 arrow has a pretty nice kink in the red plastic tubing.. Restricting flow from whatever it's supposed to do (I'm reading about it)

Ford dealer wants $220.00 for the lines and claims it comes as an entire evap system harness that connects to the intake manifold on the left side... Which seems correct from what I can see...
My question is if these lines can be repaired?... Can you purchase 90deg. rubber boots?
I'm checking a junk yard (LKQ) for the entire part / line harness that goes to the two areas in the pic -- and obviously the EGR valve (green line, center) but if I can't get the same part, I'll need a plan "B"... $220.00 is not an option.
I hope LKQ will have it on the motor... It's the same rig I got the fuel pump off of a couple weeks ago...
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks...
I 'almost' have it running 'perfect'... I get a little flutter when getting up to speed and I think it's these lines... (arrow #1 for sure causing this, IMO..)

plan A.2 ~~ Wrap tape around all over the place in a 'sling' type fashion to hold the rubber on the nipple...
what's the code for "rubber off nipple"?
