sometimes gaskets can be really affected by the environment. If it were kept too hot or too dry for example. I try to always order gaskets from suppliers that move lots - so I know they have not been sitting.

I had real problems with this is Colorado auto parts stores have dried out gaskets. I dont feel like the few bucks I spend on gaskets would really hurt the local sales numbers...

Dune rcr- what gasket did you go with. I have decided on trying victor reinz with metal layers. I am hoping these dont blow out as easy. The dorman was all fiber with no metal and only lasted four years 20-30 thousand miles. All my studs were still in place and tight but the gasket blew out on the rear port.

Haven't done my gaskets yet. Still back and forth if I want to do the long tube swap. Had them on my f150 and loved them. My f150 I used the victor reinz and didn't have any problems, though they were only on for about 6 months before the truck was totaled. I'm probably going with the vr's again though.
