I have a 2000 5.4L engine. One of the studs has broken off where the manifold connects to the head, causing an exhaust leak.

How bad of a job is this going to be?

not a difficult job just time consuming... passenger side is easier than driver side due to steering shaft... a good half day to do it... spray all bolts and nuts with pb blaster the night befor... goodluck

I just had Midas do it didn't have the time and was sick of the exhaust tap. Put in a Magnaflow muffler while up on lift, had to replace whole manifold due to rust on mounting surface total $760. It was $200 for muffler installed, don't let it leak for long like I did, it will ruin the manifold.

I do these on a daily basis. The 97-03 are not bad. But the 04+ F-150 suck. The fame design makes the lower bolts and front bolts and studs hard to get at.
