Ooh that's good news. Means that they'll probably invest resources for a mid cycle refresh. Ones built after that will be great to buy used.

They are going to have to lower sticker prices to sell more vehicles. In this area there are a ton of the expedition sitting on the dealers lots, and they are not moving. Only reason I bought mine was that it was $13,000 off sticker price.

Also, the GM sales will recover later this year when they come out with their 2020 redesign...that's why the 2019 GM sales aren't the best right now

I'm very curious to see what the new gen of GMs looks like. I assume this Ford-GM transmission is gonna be in there. Wonder what the new power plants will be like.

Are you expecting to see any power plant differences given that GM carried over the current power plants into the 2019 trucks?

I would assume they would be new engines if its a new generation. Although maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.

Itll most likely be the same engines as in the pickups, the 5.3 with no increase, the 6.2 with no increase, and most likely the 2.3 as well.

5.3 -> 6.2 -> and then this massive drop back to 2.3 lol. Are the V8s NA? Or can you get turbos on them?

Open speaking I think the NA GM v8's are a better long term solution than the 3.5. After having a GM for 25+years and comparing with my Motocross/Adventure riding buddies, from a hitch mounted moto cross bike carrier to all sorts of various trailers the GM's seem to do much better in terms of fuel economy towing or just interstate driving. I think the gm 6.2 in the Expy would be a great combo,,,,,yes I know in most test the 3.5 will out accelerate the GM,,,, but not what I buy this type of vehicle for. GM has to step up their game in the next Suburban/Yukon and I am sure they will

Actually they need to revamp their cylinder deactivation method. There are many problems with oil consumption. Even GM parts online discusses it. So V-8's have issues too.

To be fair here is the Expedition & F150 top complaints and worst year:

To be fair, I take complaints on the internet with a grain of salt. If I read and believed the internet, I would not own the eclectic range of cars, SUV's and motorcycles I own. In the same vein I have some vehicles that get rave reviews and I find the quality (freedom from defects, not engineering intent) severly lacking. My $0.02, my GM simple push rod v8's for now the last 25+ years have been problem free. On top of that, if a spark plug change took me more than an hour I would get upset.

The escalade will probably get the TT 4.2L V8 (a beast of a motor) with carryover motors for the GMC/Chevy models. Was just in Colorado and the new Expedition is in high demand by the livery industry as the TT performs much better at altitude than the V-8 according to our driver.
