I just bought a 01 4x4 XLT (5.4L) with 150k, for $4,500. Another $300 in parts and labor for a full tuneup, getting nearly 20mph on highway with easy acceleration. Runs like new.... My dad's abused and neglected 97 F-150 5.4L has 240k...and he doesn't take care of it at all!!!!

I have a 99 5.4L XLT with 169k on it. Runs awesome. I've only had to have the alternator replaced and the AC compressor fixed. Still runs like a champ.

254,000+ miles here. Slight rattle at startup if it sits outside overnight, otherwise sounds and runs like a brand new truck.

Running Royal Purple 5w-30 and Purolator Pure One filters.

Our EXPY has 284,000 on her. Shes starting to show her age...

She only has to drive me 2 miles to work a day so she should last a while longer.

fixed/replaced this year:
replaced battery
replaced alternator
replaced radiator
#3 coil
full tune-up
some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.

I find this hard to believe...

Well he said nearly 20mpg which could mean more around 19mpg, which is possible with a few mods and if you use very light acceleration. My 5.4L has gotten 18mpg, but due to my driving habits it's usually around 16. If getting 20mpg is someones target mpg for the expedition, it's not unrealistic to achieve it.
