That “buffeting” appears to be standard operating procedure for all Expeditions. My ‘11, ‘14, and ‘17 all do it. BTW, all Gen 3 Expys ship with both cross rails on the roof racks set toward the back of the truck and relatively close together. This positioning can also cause an unusual noise and vibration. I first noticed this with my ‘14 and it was driving me crazy. After having my wife drive me around while I crawled through the interior of the truck, I finally moved the front roof rack cross bar foward and the noise / vibration disappeared.

My wife’s RAV4 does the same thing. It’s not limited to the Expy.
