Solid lug nuts for the win. (Gorilla) So frustrated that my 2018 F150 after 4-5 rotations were getting chewed up so easily. (Techs not using the right size and/or hammering them with the impact). Then if they start to swell it becomes a situation where you are at the mercy of the tire shop or dealer. It’s one of those “upgrades” you do before you can’t get them off easily.
I agree, the lug nuts would be one of the first things everyone should replace. I bought my Expy new and the 2nd time i went to rotate the tires the lug wrench wouldn't fit. After a long struggle trying metric and SAE sockets I went to Discount tire and bought a set solid nuts for $60, they rotated the tires and put the new nuts on.
The last thing you want is a flat and no way to remove the nuts, that turns a 20-30minute tire change into a long wait for roadside service and then you still need new lug nuts.
