What camera did you use and how did you run the wire to the head unit? I installed an aftermarket JVC that could have a camera installed but didn't want to drill a hole in anything metal.

JVC will accept just about any camera that has a normal RCA output. You aren't going to avoid drilling at least a small hole in something. Mine was done behind the plastic trim in the the liftgate above the license plate. Interior panels pop off, screw for the grab handle. You can then unholy the trim piece and drill the necessary hole. Run wire, fill w silicone and reassemble. Its in a concealed area and the trim, at least on my 03 has a gasket around it thst further reduces the chance of anything getting inside. I've been setup that way for nearly 2 years and 0 issues.

The rest of the wire you can just run through the boot that goes from the liftgate into the roof. I chased it alongside the edge of the headliner all the way down. Super easy w the fiberglass rods from harbor freight. Open the vent vendor in the rear and remove door weatherstripping at the top and you can see/have access the whole way to the front. Hardest part is coming down the a pillar which is just a couple bolts to remove.

Solid lug nuts for the win. (Gorilla) So frustrated that my 2018 F150 after 4-5 rotations were getting chewed up so easily. (Techs not using the right size and/or hammering them with the impact). Then if they start to swell it becomes a situation where you are at the mercy of the tire shop or dealer. It’s one of those “upgrades” you do before you can’t get them off easily.
Yes... the original 2 pieces log nuts are such crap they should be illegal... I cannot believe Ford is keeping up with this... very bad for their name.

Anybody else miss having a light in the center console storage box ? I did. Got a small Hella Marine LED (red ) and a Radio Shack push-on-off switch installed. Ran power from the rear cigarette lighter on the rear of the center console.

Yeah when my original ashtray (factory option) broke (hinge broke off) I got a replacement piece from a model that came with the basic flat plate and power port there and took that power port out and installed the same kind of USB outlet you did. The only difference for mine was it was red LEDs that read the voltage. For what little good that would do me. But it is accurate anyway. I can see when the alternator is charging and not. For what that's worth.

When I installed everything for the radio connections in my console I completely overlooked I stalling a light. That thing is a cavernous beast and could really benefit from one.

I have looked into using 2 or 3 lights/diodes and having a magnetic reed switch installed towards the rear of the console lid. Being its unlikely I'd need light unless it's full open and I'm digging for something it would keep connections out of my way and all but guarantee the switch closes each time. Up front if I failed to fully latch it may be enough to not shut off my lights.

I've also considered just doing an led strip that is USB powered being I ran a couple ports in there to handle Android auto and carplay but I use wireless for my phone and the ports are free for power usage. Getting one to turn on without manipulating a control is the hard part because they generally have in line remotes for the affordable ones destined for a project like this.

@Hamfisted have you considered any sort of mounted holster? Looking into options for something like that for my xdm, it would fit perfectly in the console without taking up much space at all. Should be able to be vertical or whatever angle I feel is best for quick access as well. It's not practical removing my supertuck to place it all in the console.

I installed a reverse alarm, not the fanciest thing I've done to my expedition, but there are a lot of small kids who live around me and I want them to know when I'm backing out. Also helpful at the store when I can't see past the other large vehicles around me.
