I picked up our new Expedition Timberline a few weeks ago and immediately went to work making it “mine” and correcting some of the atrocities committed by Ford.

  • Chrome trim got deleted with 3M tape
  • Added Expedition badge on the front hood
  • Replaced the wimpy looking stock Goodyear territory tires with Toyo AT3 in 275/70r18 load E
  • Wheels need more negative offset for a more aggressive stance. I decided to keep the stockers (like the look) but will be adding 0.375-0.5” spacers.
  • OEM chrome lug nuts were replaced with Black single piece gorilla
  • Installed Husky floor mats (swapped from our ‘19 expy before we traded her in)

After that she was ready for the first family road trip and some dirt. Overall i am very pleased with the Timberline (compared to our previous 2019 Limited). My only gripe so far is the instant seatbelt warning chime that comes on the second u get moving. And I would like more physical buttons for climate control.

I don’t understand your gripe regarding the seatbelt chime warning.

When would you want it to activate?

Do you and/or passengers not fasten the seatbelts before the vehicle is in motion?

Nice mods - did the chrome black out and getting my 295's on tomorrow. I agree with you on the seat belt warning - I wish it would start at 10 mph. I stop in my driveway to check the mailbox and when I get back in it immediately stats dinging...really - I'm in my driveway stop it already.........

LOL!!!

I have almost the same gripes.

1.) Tried to get my dealership to get the Timberline specific logo, but they can't seem to find it in the system yet.
2.) Waiting on the tires. Need to get my one wheel assessed from the impact it took during the accident my 2019 was in. That will fix the offset and more aggressive tire concern. (I HATE the factory Goodyears). I'll be going to a 285/70 R18 tire on Black Rhino wheels and a 12 offset (stock of a 44 offset).
3.) I don't like the seatbelt alert either. I'm going to poke around ForScan (hopefully this week) and see if there is a way to disable it.

BTW, awesome pics and great adventure. Thanks for sharing. I'll be towing with mine later today or tomorrow.
