First the less weird thing: I have a bolted-in, hard-wired Nokia cell phone mount/charger. I want to take it out, but it seems like I should do more than just unbolt it and cut the wires. I attached some pics so you can see what it looks like, how its mounted and where the wires go.

I've never seen anything like this in a car before. Any tips on getting it out? I assume i shouldn't just unbolt it and cut the wires. I haven't figured out where they go yet.

I bet you will find that the wires run back to the cig lighter for power. But, that is just a guess. You do not want to just cut the wires because odds are you are going to blow a fuse when you do (since the wires will have power if he wired it up like I assumed he did). Pull out the center console cover and then follow the wiring back to where he tapped off. The other "likely" spot is to the back of the radio. Either place would be fairly easy to access.
