I have a dent that is about 1/8 " deep and about the size of a dime and it has a tiny bit of rust in it.
It seems from my Internet research that I would want to sand down the area, trying to leave as much undamaged paint and metal as possible (1" border?), use a filler, sand to a flat surface (220?), apply primer (sand?), paint (with aerosol?), clear coat, admire, show off.
The dent is on the back panel of my Expedition, so if there is anything left, it will be pretty noticeable.
I am willing to mask off the entire hatch if needed, but just fixing the damage would be more cost and labor effective.
Please share your wisdom.
