Anyone else have a fluttering from the bar in the sunroof? Every time I hit around 70 that front bar (which I believe is just to help air pass over) starts to flutter. Makes it almost unbearable.

Any ideas?

The spring that makes it pop up is probably weak and can't hold up. Replace that and it should be good.

If the spring doesn't help, crack a window and the fluttering will stop.

I'll give that a shot. Have you done that before, what kind of work is involved?

Thanks!

I have ran with the windows down as well as cracking the two back windows. Doesn't seem to help. Thanks for the heads up though.

I haven't done it before but mine will stick occasionally and a couple of minutes after opening it, it will pop up. The first couple of times it scared me and I didn't know what it was. Then I seen it was down one day when the roof was open and I went to touch it and it popped. I cleaned it up and put some lithium grease on it and it has been good since.

sunroof's do nothing other than help the resale of a car... I have roofs in both of my cars and never touch them. The fluttering, popping, banging noises they make while driving down the road are unbearable. Windows cracked, opened, closed, nothing helps. Occasionally I'll open it at night while stopped, just to look at the pretty stars... then close it as soon as I start to move again, lol

That's weird because I have had sunroofs in my past two vehicles and no problems with either other than my Expy sticking and was an easy fix. I love driving with them open.

I also have sunroofs in both of my cars and love them. Especially when I drive back to southern Cali. And if I stay below 65mph then the fluttering on the sunroof for the expy is no factor. I just want it to go away permanently.

Mine has never fluttered at any speed. Have you gotten a chance to replace that spring?

Not yet, unfortunately work seems to keep me away from my toys too many times!

This weekend though.

I love having mine open and letting the sun in.
Then one day it decided to get stuck. We were tailgating at the Skins-Giants 9/11 game and when we went to close everything up it was stuck. I freaked out but when I calmed down I had a friend Google it for me and we figured out how to close it again. I open it still now but I stop it before it opens all the way.

I was talking about the deflector bar sticking and not popping up. The sunroof itself has never given me any problems.
