Well hope everyone's having a great Saturday out there across the Country. Just thought I'd give a report on a part that usually fails, buts held up on my SUV so far. You guys all know how easy the 3 rd brakelight bulbs fail on our expeditions. I installed the red pack long life Sylvania's just to have them fail in 1 month. I purchased 3 Ford 912 bulbs from Serramonte Ford here in Daly City, they've been going strong now for 8 months now. I open and close my hatch pretty much every day. Anyway you guys that need to change out those 912's, the dealer bulbs beat the others. Same price too, about $2.00 each.

Same problem here but I changed the whole 3rd brake light assembly out for a black out LED 3rd brake light assembly and going good so far going on 7 or 8 months now.

I don't if it helps guys but I try not to use the full door, just the top half. It's amazing the difference in bulb quality between a so called long life to a standard Ford bulb. Wish someone made a tough skin bulb like they make for 120 volt automotive drop lights. Those bulbs are so brutal that you actually have to have cage open and step on the bulb. Really happened to me with a 2 year old bulb.
