The article is not specific to type of fuel which makes me wonder whether this has anything to do with the steady ~6% optimistic variance in my Expedition's on-board calculation of fuel economy when compared to hand calculations.

flawed approach to tire friction and wind resistance....has zero to do with EPA testing, as they roll a car on rollers with only enough wind aimed at radiators to keep engine in parameters..
computer then calculates the avg mpg based on a track of sorts the computer runs. i think everyone is gun shy
my expy is rock solid at 17-18
my 2012 edge is steady at 22.4 -.9
right dead inline with estimates
and we drive 75 or faster depending on traffic flow

I have read other media accounts that said the calculations involve the new Ranger.
