Ford Expedition reliability

We have updated our reliability stats for the Expedition and Navigator to include owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 41, about average

2007: 55, better than average

2005: 103, worse than average on stricter recalibrated scale

2004: 127, worse than average

2003: 91, worse than average

2000: 132, worse than average

1999: 94, about average

All but the 2003 are based on small and even very small sample sizes. The 2007 was just one vehicle short.

We'll have further updates in February and May. With more owners involved we could provide more precise results and cover all model years.

2007: 55, moderate, two responses short

2005: 57, moderate

2004: 85, moderate

2003: 91, moderate, decent sample size

2000: 35, low

1999: 48, low

Very small sample sizes except in the two cases noted.

Mr. Karesh - if I would have known you were in desperate need of Expeditions, I would have added my '99 a long time ago. But, now that I have a 2011.......how many short are we before we'll start seeing results?

The '99 was ex-Dudley? Probably would have had to exclude it due to a questionable history anyway

We have ten 2011s, need at least 25. We do get there one at a time, though.

Nah - it was ex-Hernandez, Moose got the ex-Dudley. I have to say, that truck was awesome! Towing a 24' RV though, I wanted some length hence the EL I just bought. Besides, I put over 160K on the '99.

Only 10 '11s? Man, that bites. Maybe this will help:

COME ON PEOPLE! Let's get some 11's registered so we can track the reliability of these things. Truedelta.com is better than Consumer Reports or other reliability studies!
