Wasn't Ford and GM in some kind of partnership with this transmission?
If so, I bet I can guess who made the case.... and who made the gears!

And I wonder if this will affect GM vehicles as well?

It's a clip on one, and a roll pin that locks the trans in park. Wouldn't be an issue if everyone used their parking brake.

I ran my vin through the ford recall checker and it did not come back as applicable to mine. I guess it’s not all the 2018s.

Isn’t this at least the third safety recall for the 2018 Expedtion?

Why can’t Ford get it right on a new vehicle?

It also wouldn’t be an issue if the vehicles were built right the first time.

I hope everyone has to deal with this crap. Another reason to stick with 16-17 Ex. Total redesign and they still can’t get shit right

Ford lead engineering on the ten speed, GM on the 9 speed. Can’t blame this one on GM lol.

No mention of the Navigator in the article... assuming I’m ok.

I’m thinking the same thing as mine is clearly in the build window of the affected vehicles. The online tool says it may be delayed and whatnot so I think I’ll have to call the dealer or the mothership tomorrow to find out.

You do realize that cars of all year models get recalls all the time, correct?
We get it, you don’t like the new models, that’s no reason to ‘hope everyone has to deal with this’. This comment screams no class.

I’m honestly not bothered by this, my last car had a a few recalls over the 13 years I had it. Annoying? Yes. But it wasn’t long ago they wouldn’t even address stuff like this.
