This post is all over the place, but I will tell you the same thing happened to mine with about 8k miles on it. Internal cracks inside the tailight, on the plastic reflector surface. nothing on the outside. At first Ford didn't want to warranty it, but the dealer insisted there wasn't even a scuff on the taillight assembly and they finally covered a replacement, at the unbelievable price of $1600. That flimsy plastic light that weighs less than 2lbs is $1600? It shouldn't crack in an accident, let alone on its own for that price, it's probably about $50 worth of materials at most.
