Hey all! I am trying to figure out how to shut off the TPMS on my 2004 XLT. Any of the info I can locate is geared to the 2012 up crowd. I understand what needs to be done but the where and how escape me. I would assume in the TMP module but I'm not sure which of the addresses to alter. Help please? Thanks!

Believe it not the Low Tire Pressure Module is in the pillar above the parking module over the left rear wheel well. Unplugging it might turn the whole system off. I don't have one to go try it on, sorry. But many modules of the pre-'06 model year will not communicate with anything but the Ford IDS program, so don't be surprised if you don't see it in ForScan.

I replaced the TPMS sensors but I was getting new tires anyway. Could not find anything in FOSCAN (no xpert) & got mine from rockauto.com SCHRADER 20096
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...ressure+monitoring+system+(tpms)+sensor,12036

I think I'm going this route, I was considering looking into a way to disable but I'm about to have new tires put on and being a hwy commmuter its probably sensible to spend the extra and just replace the couple sensors I have bad, kill the warning message and have have a functional system again.

Would unplugging the module not cause another warning light? I'd think it would be a big deal (notification wise) if it failed or came unplugged and would let you know

I'm coming around to spacers just because there doesn't seem to be any other choice. However, since It wouldn't get any benefit until i installed taller tires, and I just installed 34" tires, i guess it'll be a few years before I get around to messing with any more lift.
PS I could not wait - the tires had to be replaced.
