Prior to adding the Lightning supercharger to our Expy (really my wife's Expy), we upgraded the exhaust in preparation. I was running a Magnaflow dual-in/dual-out (DI/DO) muffler on my F150 and it was great...so we added the same muffler to the Expy. While the performance from the Magnaflow was great, the drone inside was terrible. We ran that setup for a few months even after we added the suercharger, but the drone was too much.

After many phone calls to various companies, we swapped the Magnaflow out for the largest Flowmaster DI/DO unit available. While the drone was less this time, it still drove us nuts.

We even installed a Gibson DI/DO muffler with the same results.

Our saving grace came when I found the DynoMax VT muffler. (http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers.php?muffler=vt) They claimed the muffler was drone free and offered a 90 day return if I wasn't satisfied. The muffler has a flap in the outlet pipe that increases back pressure slightly under cruise condition but opens up under acceleration.

We installed the mufflers and all our drone vanished. Needless to say, my wife was VERY happy. And when the wife is happy, everyone is happy.

Give the DynoMax guys a try. With a 90 day money back guarantee, you can't go wrong.

Or no mufflers like me lol, but someday, I will probably be nagged enough to get rid of the noise. I will have to look into them if the need arises.

The reason I ask is bc my daughter is 15 months now and is very smart. When I accelerate she starts humming to the exhaust drone untill it shifts. All the tvs in the truck and this is what she does

My apologies Guys for not responding to this sooner. For some reason I didn't get any of the email notifcations for this.

With that out of the way, Jacks3am is exactly right. When we mash the GO-pedal, it is every bit as loud as the Magnaflow or Flowmaster that we had on there previously. However, when cruising in normal city traffic or on the Interstate, it has a really nice, very low tone. Put it this way, it passes the Wife-test. Cass couldn't be more happy with these mufflers.
