Hi...my name is monkey and I drive an expedition....

OK on the left (driver) side of my front differential. Where the axle enters the diff housing. I have a lot of play, in out and up and down. I can not find an exploded view of the 8.8 IFS. I want to know if there is a bearing there or does it ride on the carrier bearing in the diff. My haynes manual is useless for accual driveline info. Can anyone help with an exploded view. Or any info. But pictures are best. Thanks

I could not find a picture either, however I probably can on Monday. I work for a driveline shop and should be able to come up with something. I'd bet the 8.8 IFS is a C-clip style. In and out, up and down indicate some thing is worn out. I'll check the books (they have already left for the weekend) on Monday.

I checked the books, and even a kit that was on the shelf. My E-bay shop manuals have not arrived yet, and I couldn't find a picture I could scan. There are outboard needle bearings. The carrier has it's own bearings. Hope that is helpful.
