Hi all....
I see a lot of postings about expy noises in the drivetrain and suspension. Noises drive me NUTZ and I thought I would share what I found tonight.
I have been fighting a squeak/rattle since I bought my truck. The noise seemed to be coming from the front end and I could feel the vibration in the steering wheel. It was quite loud going over relatively small bumps and large bumps made it sound like something was about to fall off in the road. My first thought was a front sway bar bushing since the noise didn't seem to vibrate in "tune" with wheel travel. I went over EVERY moving part in the suspension and could find nothing wrong. I had all but given up when I happen to put my foot on the brake pedal at just the right time and FELT the rattle in my foot at the same time I heard the squeak. As it turns out my brake pedal assembly is loose and the vibration I am feeling is coming from the brake pedal assy radiating through the firewall to the steering column. I don't know yet what the problem is exactly. I would guess that the brake pedal assy has just loosened.
I WILL find out this weekend what the story is and post an update.
