I have a 99 with the 4.6L. I posted during the summer that I was having issues with the a/c cutting out while running and blowing warm. When i would shut it off and turn it back on it would usually blow nice and cold again. Now i'm having a problem with the front heat hot working. I get heat out of the back, the truck is running at normal temp so i don't think it's the stat. I also felt and both lines going to the heater core feel warm. Does this sound like the blend door?? If so does anyone know if I'm able to get to the heater core if I fix the blend door using the "heater treater" method? Thanks for any help

I dont know about getting to the heater core... but the heatertreater method is a good cheap fix... I did mine that way this summer.... but if you watch the video on youtube and look for the expy heatertreater video you can take out everything and if yours is anything like mine when you pull out the actuator pieces of the blend door will fall out... but for my .02 the heatertreater is a great way to fix it unless you wanna take out the entire dash

Oddly enough i went for a longer drive and the front heat eventually started to work, only took about a half hour. I turned all the back vents towards the front which helped, and half way through my drive decided to check the front for sh*ts and giggles and it was blowing nice and warm. Is there any way it could be the actuator for the blend door?

could be... actuator is kinda a pain to get to but I followed the heatertreater vid and pulled mine out... but if you get actuator out you can see if the pastic part is stripped or broken on the actuator and then check the bottom of the blend door...were they break at... took me like 45min when I went to check mine out... took my time since I didn't wanna break anything
