I gotta cut my fuel filter out which means the two quick connectors gotta go too... Truth is the connectors are the issue here, not the filter.

I have some items from dorman (quick connectors / nylon patch line / unions)

There are no issues connecting all dorman products together but it seems the union will not splice to the existing 5/16" flex line -- tight enough... which means I'll need to clamp it... Problem is I can't seem to find anything other than worm drive clamps (which break when you crank on them) or anything small enough in a t-bolt style clamp.

Which brings me to compression fittings for 5/16" lines

Anyone used them (compression fittings) -- Anyone used ferrule type unions? if so, what clamps (if any) did you use?

Anyone done fuel line repairs?

Not that I'm wanting to do this or anything... I have to cut it out because the previous owner (or ?) took a pair of pliers to the cup part of the quick connectors and crimped them.

Being that fuel pressure is around 40-50psi you can use barbed fittings and stainless steel hose clamps if needed.. Or can go all out and use AN fittings with press in connectors.

I got off the phone with a Dorman tech & I have the parts I'm going to use... I'm taking back my existing dorman part kits & swaping for this new list...

this is for 2000 year(ish) models - fuel line runs.

(1) 800-057 (5/16" straight) - upstream end of filter
(1) 800-060 (5/16" 90deg. elbow) -downstream end of filter
(2) 800-145 (5/16" nylon to nylon compression union)

Only bummer is I will drop the tank again... But beings I'm such a stinking pro at that now, it should go a bit quicker.

Should I post some pics when I do the job... A little howto? Would it help? I can't imagine it's a widespread issue except for circumstances where the fuel filter connectors get messed up, or you develop a leak in the flex part of the fuel line in that area..

maybe this can help you for your problem to fix that fuel line. try to use a chunk of high pressure fuel line to fix it. just make EFI fuel line and 2 clamps. if you still need some Ford Expedition repair tips and guide, try to check out automd. you can find there some guide and tips. good day.
