Full time fog lights

I did this to my Dodge Ram after reading a thread in the Dodge forum so I thought I would try it on my Navigator. I never take my headlight switch off of auto, so for that reason I never seem to use my fogs, but really like all the extra light I can get. So I ran a jumper from the park light relay to the fog lamp relay. Now whenever the park lights are on, the fogs are too. I've done the hard part by figuring out which posts to jump across, the rest is easy. I've had this on my Dodge for more than a year with no issues.

I know lots of people do this mod and I have a Euro switch in my Passat that allows me to do it but FIY, fog lights without headlights is illegal in the USA.
In the USA you have to light up the fog with the headlights before you can turn on your fog lights. It's a dumb law because in fog the fog lights stay under the fog to light the road.
It is also illegal to drive with only the park lights on without headlights.
Not saying don't do it, just be aware of the laws so you are prepared if you get stopped.

also(in ct anyway) when your highbeams come on your fogs must turn off. had an issue with this on an older truck of mine where i just wired after market fogs into the parking lights and failed inspection for it.

dougmcp/dcarr...i ride like that ALL the time...cops see me riding...i guess they like my truck...lol never get pulled over or anything...i get ppl looking hard at them though...i see guys hitting their buds and i can see them say "look at his lights"...lol i think what REALLY sets it off is the switchbacks...white until i hit the turn signal then flashes amber...SO HARD!!!

Around here as long as your lights all work, your fine. But if so much as a tag light is out, they'll get you in a second. I kinda understand, just gotta be sure and do a walk around before booze cruisin'
