Mobil is now producing their Mobil 1 full synthetic oil in the 5w-20 viscosity.

http://mobil1.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_5W-20.aspx

I just bought a case this weekend.

As a side note;

The bottle now says that it meets the Ford WSS-M2C930-A specification.

The old 0w-20 Mobil 1 said it met the Ford WSS-M2C153-H specification which is the one that's giving in the owner's manual.

Does anybody know what the difference is ?
I believe the 930-A spec has superceded the 153-H spec but can't prove it.

Thanks for the research Monsta,

I read the 2005 spec you linked to, perfect.

I searched the site you provided and found the Ford 2004 oil spec document and it sure enough listed the 153-H spec.

That's exactly what I needed, gotta cover my ass for warranty issues etc. plus it's nice to know exactly what's going on.

I think Mobil got wise and realized that they were missing the mark with the 0w-20 oil even if it was fine. People will feel much more confident in buying the 5w-20 oil and don't have to worry about the stealerships blah blah about correct oil etc.

I see that Chrysler has also jumped on the 5w-20 band wagon.

Look for more to follow.

5W-20 is an excellent oil that not only will protect our engines for years (with normal changes) but help return good mileage & get extra power to boot!

People feel about 5-20 now as folks did when 5-30 was introduced.

I can't wait for the M1 stuff to hit the island! My Expy is almost due for an oil change. :D

Does using M1 allow you longer intervals between oil changes without voiding the warranty, or does it just provide greater protection?
