Sounds normal to me. 210F seems a bit high, but you are in the middle east. Are you towing any thing?

How are you measuring the temp? When I tried to monitor trans temps using the Torque app the coolant and the transmission always read exactly the same temperature. Once I started using Forscan Lite I was able to see the transmission fluid was not the same exact temperature as the coolant!

Does anyone know what is a “normal” range for the transmission temperature?

I have a 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4 with the factory HD tow package. I do not tow.

The vehicle owner’s manual does not provide information on what is the acceptable range of temperature.

There really isn't a minimum temp for tranny fluid, as long as it can flow. The high temp end gets a bit more complex. Normally (whatever that is defined as), tranny fluid operating temp would be 170F - <220F.

The variables that contribute to fluid temp are numerous, but mostly ambient air temp and load.

Once you get into that 220-225F band, then you need to consider that the fluid will degrade much faster, and that the higher the temp, the faster it will degrade (often referred to as 'burning it'). If you ever see your tranny temp above 230-240F, do yourself a favor and change the fluid soon.

Here's a chart that sorta shows that (be wary....the mileage scale is not linear):

240 has always been considered hot and in the red for trans temp BUT the place the reading is taken can have effect on accuracy.

I had a 67 GTO with a turbo 400 with temp gauge add on. Kind of cool in 1989.

What about oil coolers though? (not mentioned).
Oil coolers for oil or adding a cooler to the trans?

I've always been a fan of adding a transmission cooler to four-wheel drive trucks or anyting that was being road raced or put into heavy use.

Option 536 (heavy duty towing package) includes an "Aux. Auto Trans. Oil Cooler" which can be retrofitted easily (or so I'm told :) ) if not present.

100°F above ambient temperature seems normal (and acceptable) during my routine use and based on the dashboard display. I had a scan gauge on my '07 with a settable alarm for transmission temp and it only exceeded 225° one time in heavy traffic and towing my travel trailer.

The larger cooler is part number DL3Z-7A095-B. It’s not significantly bigger, but it’s a popular swap for the Raptors. This mod is referred to as the “Saudi mod” because apparently the F150s that are sent to Saudi get this larger cooler- and apparently F250s and larger also get this cooler.

If you order, make sure to get the -B. Apparently the -A is the factory sized cooler.

Should be about $100 give or take. Very simple to swap over. Lots of youtube videos showing the process.

The cooler in the newer expeditions with the HD tow package is already a larger cooler than the F150 uses. F150 uses a factory 4 row cooler, expy has a 9 row cooler (15-17 with HD tow). I upgraded my first F150 to a 6 row (50% cooling upgrade) and saw no difference in cooling when towing. My expedition runs much cooler when towing than my coyote F150 and the same as my 2010 max HD tow F150 platinum (and it had the smaller 4 row cooler but never ever got hot). The 6r80 is thermostatically controlled, it doesn't even allow fluid into the external cooler until around 195, and thermostat opens and closes as needed to keep the fluid around 201 degrees at all times.
