Gen 4 and electronics in 2014 Expedition Limited.

Is the 2014 model Expedition going to need some kind of 4G dealer update? I don't even have my cell phone synched but I am worried that the remote key fob might not lock or unlock it, and maybe the dash features won't yield the performance info, (fuel, battery, oil levels) that I rely upon. I really dread dealer visits. Have been using the same locally-owned garage for close to 20 years, for my Expeditions. Not worried about GPS since by habit, I use a Garmin that I update a couple times a year. Any intel would be appreciated.

What type of screen do you have on your console? Is it any type of Sync system? And what size is it? 4”?

There is NOTHING in your 2014 that is Cell based. Unless you have the old FORD Cell based Remote start system. I am guessing you don't. It requires an app and a yearly subscription. You would know.

Your regular key fob is not Cell based(3G, 4G, LTE, 5G), is it a VHF radio based point to point system. None of them are.
