I want to get a third spare key for my sister in case she needs to drive it. I want to know how much usually the spare key cost and how long does it take to order one from the dealership.

If you already have 2 keys, you should be able to just order one from ebay, have it cut, and program it yourself. Instructions should be in the manual.

Not sure how much dealerships usually charge for it.

That's what I did. I still have a bag with a couple of keys in it. I paid $11 for 2 keys, but they sent me 4. The manual for your truck should have how to program it. My 98 only needed one key to program mine.

How many do you have? The manual says:
To program a coded key yourself, you
will need two previously programmed coded keys (keys that already
operate your vehicle’s engine) and the new unprogrammed key(s) readily
accessible for timely implementation of each step in the procedure.

The keys themselves are cheap on ebay. If you only have 1 right now, get one more key from ebay, have it cut, and have the dealership program it (at least it'd save you the cost of the key). From that point on, you'll be able to program up to 6 more keys (for a total of 8) following the instructions in the manual.

I've gotten a fob of ebay, and programmed it myself.

There are a lot of places that can clone a key for you.
Once it's cloned, you don't have to program it, since it has the same code as the key that already works.

You only need 1 key that is programmed, the old key, the second key mentioned is the new unprogrammed cut one. I ordered 2 keys off ebay and had them cut for $2. I "programmed" them myself. All you do is turn the ignition on and off. It is easy. The dealer wanted $80 for one key. I got 2 off ebay for $6 total.

From my manual:
Programming spare keys

Use one of the two electronically coded keys supplied with your vehicle to program additional keys:

1) Insert a coded key into the ignition and turn to the ON position.

2) Wait untill the THEFT light in the insterment cluster illuminates and then turns off.

3) Within 15 seconds, insert a new key into the ignition and turn the ignition to ON or START. The vehicle does not have to be started to program the key.

If the key has been coded properly, the theft indicator will illuminate for two seconds. The newly coded key can then be used to start the vehicle. This prosses may be repeated to code up to 16 keys.

If the key has not been coded properly, the theft indicator will flash and the vehicle can not be started. There are several possable explanations:

1) The new key was not inserted within 15 seconds.

2) All 16 key codes have already been stored.

3) The key does not have an electronic code.

Sure hope you can use this info. Its for my 98, with a PATS 1 anti theft.

That's for PATS 1 stuff. As I said above, the manual states you need two previously programmed keys for his model year. It's in the Locks and Security section, page 147 of your manual.

As for the key fob, I don't think you need a previous one to program it yourself.

The fob you can do yourself. Just have to make you do the procedure in the manual as described. It helps to go through it once slowly, so you know what to do next when the time comes, since if it times out, you'll have to start over.
