I’ve seen these on FB and IG, any good? Easy install? How’s the truck feel post install?
The truck feels great. You can tell it breathes better and gets out of the hole faster. I have only put on about 150 miles so i cant be sure on the gas mileage. I have been driving with a heavy foot. No check engine lights or issues. Very easy to install with a vehicle lift. Heat every nut so it comes off the turbo easily.

How long did the install take of the downpipe? Did you have to drop the transmission crossmember? Any tips for someone doing it themselves?

The transmission crossmember had to come out because it was damaged. My buddy did most of the work on his lift. We had to heat the studs on the turbo outlet (so they wouldn't snap) to get them off. The clamps they give you work well.
Took about 4 hours. The exhaust I purchased was for a regular length expedition not the EL. We had to do some slight modifications to the exhaust.

Always nice when you have a friend for that kind of stuff. As for the additional comments between you and this other dude on here, he does have a point with 0-60 times. Real world results that are published and verified with visible data do show almost 8 sec 0-60 time for expedition el. Not sure where car and driver got there info from but it seems skewed and no visible data or proof of them doing low 6 0-60. It’s all gonna depend on gearing, fuel type, and weight. What specs is your expedition el @Captain Kirk ?

Another run. Forgot to add there 3 people in the truck too...
Used my highly accurate and expertly calibrated “stop watch” method this morning leaving work and recorded a 0-60 of 6.03 sec. so that’s my 6400ish lb curb weight plus me at 225lbs so right around 6500-6600lbs. Wait till I put my DP, turbo adapters, magnaflow exhaust, mishimoto IC and pipes and e30 tune. I’ll be at 4.7 secs easy

Wow, what a fun thread!

You guys done yet? I admit not to have read the he said/she said but I did sit back and eat some chips as I turned the pages.

Turbo ****.....I love it!

My turbo on my 650 Yamaha turns 212,000rpm....yes, you read that correctly.

Ya'all want to ride fast, come by and I'll hook you up. You can try your luck with a near 90HP H1 500cc Wrist-rocket....that's a measly 30.31CI yet unless you are a pro racer, you WILL not defecate for a couple of days afterward....that is if you manage to bring it back without loosing it.

Or you can ride an original Widowmaker.... and yes, the tag reads :WDWMKR

Relax guys......we don't all have to be "right" on the 'net.

Okay, so there is a disagreement. Lets leave it at that.

The question is whether there are actually verified improvements. That way other forum members here looking to do the mod can decide if its worth it. Thats what the forum is for.

I call this "probable" , but what I ive learned about exhaust systems is that is unlikely.

The " Yo Mama " stuff, and ***** talk is just .

For some real facts...the 3" down pipe and 3" flowmaster exhaust made a huge difference. No tune required for the SPD catted down pipe. Maybe SOME people don't do their research on different brands.
Straight from jacob hozen at SPD sorry but you can’t feel 11rwtq in a 6000lb SUV. Thts the only performance gain. And that 11rwtq is in a tuned truck nonetheless. So basically you’ve got just replacement DPs nothing fancy

LOL! So you're 3 tenths of a second better than stock? Start your stop watch when the tach jumps. Not the time on the video. Do I have to teach you everything? You need to listen to yourself on how silly you sound. You have a cold air intake (guessing, because you weren't puffing your internet chest)stock throttle body and stock exhaust with a tune. You can only force so much exhaust out of the stock system. You don't understand the general function of an engine yet you want to give advice?

Lifted + 35" LT tires aren't exactly speed mods

Stock on these 15-17 expedition el is 8.3 secs. That’s with the 3.73s and HD tow. Kick rocks bro, good luck with your truck

View attachment 31968

That's actually the stock 5.4l V8 numbers

Shortie: 7.8s (2wd) / 8.1s (4wd)
EL V8: 8.3s (2wd) / 8.6s (4wd)

PS all the sources tend to say these numbers are "simulated"

LOL!

Just did a 0-60 run. 5.8 sec. I think I can do better with a harder launch.
I’d like to see the software you used to calculate that if you don’t mind, as visual proof. Should have a start and end time for both at 0mph and 60mph

Arguing about 0-60 times in a 3 ton SUV?

LOL!

Y'all need to take the masks off and go out to the park and get some sunlight. (yeah, I'm aware that this is an old thread..just wanted to be a "cool kid" too...)

Actually talking 0-60...but OK. Nothing to see here...just E85 Tune Only 2020 Limited Max on 22’s doing a sub 5.

Measured with an accurate device.
