Hello everyone. I'm posting this question for a loser friend of mine! We both have expy's. His is a 99 e.b. 4x4, and mine is a 99 xlt, 4x4. I noticed on his a grounding strap broken. My question is this. Under the passenger side front of the truck, right by what I think is a body mount, there is a grounding strap. What does this ground? Would 10 guage wire be sufficient to make a new strap?

Thanks For all your help in advance1
Sorry for such a noob question

grounding strap? or wire? could be to the starter...just a guess...but if you can post a pic of it...that would be worth more than a 1000 words

expydaddy, because the body and frame are separated by rubber mounts (for sound isolation), wires need to be added between the two to ensure that anything electric has a path back to the battery. Not much stuff should/will be grounded right to the frame of the truck. So, by adding a 10 gauge wire in place of the broken grounding strap will be more than adequate for what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks to all that have replied. Especially Thermo. I just wanted to confirm that 10 guage wire would be sufficient. I should have been more specific about the location in my post. Ill try to post a pic later. Thanks for all your help.
