This thread came up first in my search and didn't realize it was common. I think it's a ~$50 credit on new vehicles.
I really like the hands free feature, but I'm in the same boat with it randomly closing when hooking up a trailer. Luckily, it's not often. The sticking button is annoying.
I did notice shadows make a difference with the sensor. When the Sun in behind me and low, I'm vigilant. Just ordered a Navigator and the sensor was automatically deleted but I asked to put it back on.
I'll see if I can engineer a proper fix and report back in a few months. I'm going to see how it's setup on the Panamera since it's never falsed.
