Hi all I am new to the forum. I have a 2005 xlt having a problem with the transmission and I am stumped. When I put it in reverse I have to give it gas to back up or feels almost if it’s being held back not slipping, when I hit the gas in neutral on level ground it creeps forward and feels held back when shift into overdrive. If I shut over drive off it will go through all the gears no problem.
So far I have backed off on the parking brake and actually disconnected it thinking that may have been the issue “it wasn’t”
Adjusted shift cable and replaced neutral safety switch. Fluid is clean and doesn’t smell burnt may be a little over full though.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated as I am out of possibilities.
