I was in my sisters 99 expy tonight and every time she takes off from a start and gets moving it has a hard vibration, feels like when you hit the wake up bumps on the side of the freeway, then goes away, just brief, but almost everytime she stops and goes. She said has done it for the last 2 years since she bought it.....I am curious what you all think it could be???

It was at take off period, she would take off staight and it would happen, also on turns but it isnt at low mph it seemed to be at 20-40mph, but not at highway speed as often, she is used to it and doesnt even feel it anymore but it annoyed the hell out me.

Torque convertor shudder. Try a transmission additive that advertises "eliminates torque convertor shudder". Also try changing the fluid if it has been a while, other than that you're going to have to get some transmission work done later.

I was also thinking torque converter, i had a ford E40D years back do the same but not as bad and had to rebuild. I willl get her an addative and try that first.

Don't feel bad, mine is just starting to do it too, it does it rarely but in the same exact mph range as yours and its very short term and not as violent. But if it "feels like driving over a rumble strip" that is what it is. I'll be going the additive route too this weekend when I get to the automotive store.
