Thinking about it... not sure yet though. I want it to be louder.

What are the best headers to get as far as price and power go?

doing my manifolds... i took my beast in. in the shop for ever. had to heat and drill out i think 12 bolts. out of the 16. yeah. and they only charged me for 8. and as for headers you better go all out and get long tubes. other wise your just wasting your money on the shortys. your better off on the manifolds if you were to get shortys. then do rear cat delete true dual and x pipe. that would be loud. o and no muffler.

Ya, you have to be careful when taking off the nuts that hold on the manifold. They are only 8mm, which is slightly larger than a 5/16 bolt. I think they should have made the bolts a little bigger, because just the heat is enough to rust them and break them off over time.

Price of headers and install vs the performance gains and sound gains. Its not worth it unless your building a race car which Im sure your not. Dont waste your money

How much would true duals cost ya guys think?

That would depend on the type of muffler(s) that you want to go with, and also if you can do the welding yourself or have a buddy that could do it.

For a shop probably around $500 + (parts & labor) just depends on what you want to do.

I did a rear cat delete, removed the factory Y and installed a 70 series Flowmaster DI/SO for under $200 but I have a welder and did all the work myself. It only cost me a bottle of Jim and a 6pk of sprite for me to use my buddies shop and have him help hold stuff in place while I tacked it all up!

And as far as headers go I agree unless you NEED to pull your manifolds the shorties are not worth the money. Now if you already have broken studs or a bad manifold then I would say go for it since you will already be in there! Just make sure to use PLEANTY OF PB BLASTER for like a week in advance!!!!!

When I had my exhaust done last summer, they cut the old pipe off so it was true dual, but then put on a new Y and ran dual pipes out the back with 3 1/2 inch stainless tips. It cost me $340 for that completely welded with a 1 year warranty. Since mine wouldn't have required anymore work for true duals, I would think that is roughly what yours would cost, depending if you get a muffler. I would recommend calling around to all shops, because the shop I went with was about $50 cheaper than the rest.

Yeah the biggest price increase is when you pick the muffler(s) that you want you can easily add another $100 or more to your price depending on what you go with!

My Big Block 70 series ran $150 (Oreilly's price matched Autozone) and it is a DI/SO that same muffler was quoted at just under $200 across the board at all the local exhaust shops!

If you are going to run true duals, and not an x pipe then I would recomend using a DI/DO muffler that way you at least get a little bit of equilzation between the two banks.

The shop where I did my exhaust actually would have given me a good deal if I went with a muffler. I decided not to go with a muffler, but for a stainless magnaflow muffler, it would have been an extra $60, and I priced the muffler at auto store for $120, so you might want to look into that.

Now unless you find a set of long tubes, then thats a different story. But then again, is it worth it?

Well I've already got "dual exhaust" haha but it's just a Y-pipe, I want true duals...

And I've already got one 40 series muffler so I guess I just gotta pay for the other one.
