2018 Expedition XLT (no HID headlights)

Both the headlights and fog lights are always on when the engine is running. Is this normal?

Thanks!

No. Check your info center setting in center screen and turn off day time running lights. It should be the tab under the cog wheels. Look for vehicle settings.

Up in the middle of the dash there will be a sunload sensor, be sure you don’t have papers or items obstructing it on the dash. It’s normally a little bump up or an “eye”.

I cannot find the setting.

I went to the settings on the stereo screen. I went to General, then the Gear Wheels and then couldn't find the setting.

Could you please walk me through, step by step, to get to the Daytime Running Lights setting????

I'd really appreciate it!

By the way, there is nothing over the sensor.

Thanks all!

Can you turn them off with the switch? What is the switch set at (Off,On,Auto)?

It may be the sensor even if nothing is blocking it. My rain sensor was installed improperly from the factory (it wasn’t “stuck” flush to the window) which prevented my rain sensor from activating. Point being, it’s possible the factory flubbed your sensor install and it thinks it’s blocked all the time.

I agree with checking the DRL settings, but the full headlights wouldn’t be on as a result of the DRLs being set to run. The headlights themselves would only be on if the switch was set to “on” or the sensor was acting up in “auto” mode.
