Calling all Car Audio/Video Pros-

I have a 2013 Expy with Navigation and dual Headrest dvd player/monitors. I'd like to enhance my system in 2 ways:

1. Be able to bypass the FM modulator and link directly to the factory speakers.

2. Use the stock Ford Navigation/dvd in-dash head unit and have the headrest monitors display the dvd picture. When my 3yr old is the only child in the car, it would be nice to control the movie from the dash.

So, does anyone have any experience with this?

There has to be some way for the head unit to control the rear DVD systems. In the manual I have, it states that if the headrest DVD units are installed at the factory (they never are), then they will appear as options up front. I don't think you'll ever be able to "see" the video as the same features should be active as if you were to try to play a DVD up front.

Not sure about bypassing the FM transmitter other than you could add a blutooth dongle to have it play that way - but not sure why it matters.
