Help! Cant detach door cable from inner door panel

In the process of upgrading door speakers in my 2020 Expy.

Just like the title says, I cannot figure out how to detach the cable that connects the interior door handle on the door panel to the door latch mechanism inside the door itself.

I already broke one trying to get it out (dont work in 100 degree weather with a 4 year old "helper").


I've watched countless videos, read threads etc but they all skip this likely simple step.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I had to push the pin that the handle pivots on, out, it only comes out 1 way, then the lever comes out and you can remove the cable end.. Was a long time ago, so I could be wrong, but I think that's how I did it!!

"Move to the center of the door panel and locate the door opener handle and the attached cable.
Gently pull back the release tab on the bottom of the cable's mount before pulling it off the bracket"
