I don't think the Ethanol % works correctly. In Saudi Arabia I don't imagine they're "watering" down the gasoline with ethanol. My Ethanol gauge read 5.9%, IIRC, and never changed no matter where I got my gas.

The rating us an EPA rating. The EPA is US organization, we do US Gallons. I didn't find it on a Ford website, but on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_economy_in_automobiles#Units_of_measure

The increase you are seeing in mileage is probably due to the lack of ethanol in your fuel. I consistently saw 1-2mpg increase going from our crap 93 octane with ethanol to non-ethanol 93 octane.
