How's everyone doing?

I have some questions about lifting my '06 4X4 XLT Expy. I was looking on eBay and noticed spacer leveling kits are fairly cheap - somewhere in the neighborhood of $114 - $125 for a 3.5/2.5 kit. Are these quality kits? How do they affect the ride, fuel economy, etc. Is a 1 inch rake standard from factory on my model or should I measure? Any safety concerns? Is installation fairly straightforward or are any special tools required outside of the basics in an everymans toolbox? Also, which is the better material - carbon nylon or carbon steel? Forgive me for the ignorance, but I'm new to this and would like to learn, can't do that without asking questions. Thanks in advance and God bless!

There are several members using those lifts with no problems. The lift itself doesn't hurt fuel economy, it's the larger wheels and tires that get you.

Good to know. How big of wheels/tires do you think I could get away with using a 3.5/2.5 spacer kit and no trimming, without adversely affecting my mileage?

Should you ever decide to go stupi*... Get a 8in lift.. There is a couple of lifts left from Rize that is only made for Gen2. Drawback is.. You will be paying out of you a$$ :)

Not anytime soon, trying to keep it economical. Would be nice eventually, but as I understand it, they are no longer manufacturing the kit. Final stock is all that is left :(

Ok, so my taxes came back today, and I decided to go ahead with the spacer kit. Before ordering, I decided to measure the rake on my expy, so I'd have a better idea of what to order. I measured from the top of the wheel well at the center, straight down to the ground. First time I measured on a gravel driveway, resulting in a level 35" front and back. Thought this to be odd so drove to a parking lot and measured again - 35" front, 34.5" rear. This still seems unusual to me. Any ideas or help?

rake spacing

Bought a '03 XLT used, all stock. My rake was 1/4", which surprised the heck out of me as the leveling kits are set for a 1" rake. I'm considering 1.4" strut spacers just to give it a better look, can't lift too much, daily driver (and my wife is waaaay short).
