help with P0743 / OD-Off light on

hey guys... been working on the expy trying to beat the cold weather, not going to happen, been doing some body work. went to move it the other day so i hooked up the battery and she fired right up. put it in gear and it died. as soon as you put it into D/2/1 it kills the motor... p/r/n work fine tho.. i got code p0743. but thats the ONLY code coming up. the od-off light is on solid- NOT flashing. any ideas? i need to get this thing moved asap. any help is much appreciated!!!

2000 expedition - 5.4 4x4 i checked all the fuses today. and checked the wiring harnesses near where i have been working (rocker pannels)

p0743 relates to the torque converter clutch circuit. I am just going from memory so don't take this as gospel. I would find the torque converter clutch solenoid ground wire since I believe it is ground side switched and check for shorts. Maybe the engine rotation when engaged if forward gears could be enough to trigger the short or the trans is designed not to engage the clutch in reverse
