Has anyone here tried an HHO (Hydrogen) generator to increase your gas mileage? I know a guy who recently installed one on his vehicle and claims it improved his mileage by 35%. I had never heard of such a thing...

My cousin used to have a company that made and installed these things. I have no faith in them at all.

My biggest issue is that the motor takes in HUGE quantities of air to operate. In order to make any significant change, you would have to produce quite a bit of hydrogen. (and of course oxygen, since it's the other half of the water molicule). I just don't think a little mason jar could possibly generate enough volume of hydrogen to make a difference.

My rough math says the truck takes in about 95 cubic feet of air a minute at 1000 rpm

His claim is laughable. No way one can increase that 5.4 by 35% without a collapse in the laws of thermodynamics.

I have worked around gas generators that specifically made high pressure oxygen and hydrogen (essentially the HHO generator but at a higher pressure). ANy claims of better mileage are so far out there, I don't know where to start. If you want me to get into how this system works, I will go into more detail than you care to admit to. I'm sure some of the guys from the FEF site know the detail that I can go into things and guys from the FTW site are all too familiar with my technical knowledge. Save yourself some money and get something that actually works.

Not sure if they work or not (only read a little bit on them). But, a mechanic buddy of mine tried it on his 05 Navigator and could never get the computer to operate/compensate for it. I think he ended up abandoning the project and probably still has the mason jar under his hood. Good luck - would love to see real results if you go this route, but I am skeptical and not willing to risk it (lack of knowledge and expertise) myself. Thanks, Mike
