Anyone buy after market HIDs? I've actually had good luck with HIDs that I bought off eBay for my '06 but was curious if anyone used anything specific.
Also does anyone know the bulb codes for the headlights and fogs for an '08?

I just hope you guys have those projectors installed when using HID's because there is nothing like blinding oncoming traffic with HID's in standard Expedition headlight housing.

This is a recurring statement for some ppl on here...I guess it depends on you sensitivity at night...I personally don't have a prob with others having them NOT in projectors...doesn't blind me...2-lane or 4-lane roads...head on...regardless if I'm in the truck or in wifes car...I had mine in my OEM headlights and never was flashed by on-coming vehicles or police...I have retro fitted my headlights not for glare purposes....but for style...I have them in my OEM fogs as well...

My stock housings with hids were very annoying for oncoming people, I could light up the tops of houses by parking just feet away from them. In my lightning housings now, they are aimed very well and don't bother anybody. I get all my hids from ddm tuning

directly in regards to the 2007+ expeditions, i've tried various plug and play hid kits for the lights i have, and everyone one ended up being glaring, and giving me no USEFUL light, there was light everywhere, but not far up ahead where i need it to be, especially driving on a highway. All that i lit up was the car in front of me, from top to bottom, regardless of aiming.

I have since then retrofitted with projectors from The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications
No complaints since then

I am commenting specifically on Gen 3 Expeditions, because i have one and i have tried various hid kits.

I have seen plug and play kits on some gen 3 expeditions around here as well, and i usually let them pass me, then i highbeam them until they leave the highway, because thats what the glare from their expy looks like to me.

I have Kensun 35w heads and fogs in my 07. I aimed them pretty low, so I never get bright-lighted on the road, except when I'm sitting at stoplights and the cars across from me flash me once in awhile.

I have a set of Projectors and a 55w kit for the heads sitting at home waiting for install... hopefully I will find time this weekend. I still need to decide if I'm going to "projector" the fogs or not.

edit: I wonder if the Chrome trimmed Expedition headlights throw off more glare than the black trimmed? Mine seem to have a fairly decent cutoff for being reflector housings with HID's.

What part # is this?

Damn, I'm getting really tired and frustrated trying to improve this X. It seems like every time I make an effort it costs an arm and a leg and still not the right choice.

I just bought new housings and some HIDs, now I feel like I'm going to have to chose which to sell at a discount and start the hell over.
