you will need 2 sets. one for your lowbeams and one for your foglights. and a 3rd if you want to do your high beams. Get the wire harness to help it draw enough power on startups

I would love to get rid of the "yellow" looking lights and replace them with the white light ones but i have no idea which ones to get.

I do not want even a hint of blue though. Any suggestions? This would just be for my low beams since i plan to replace the fogs with led units at some point.

They come in diff style kits, the white ones are like 6 or 8000 k.. you can google HID lights and a chart will probably show to give you an idea. They look great.

Here is my 13 with 6,000K bulbs and 35 watt ballasts. I would shy away from 8K unless you want to look like a ricer. My friend has 8,000 on his Cobra and is waiting on his 6,000Ks to get here after seeing mine and the difference at night and in the rain.

If I wanted to just do my lowbeams and fogs can I just buy the HID bulbs (6000k) or do I need anything else... like wiring harnesses, etc?

4300k is standard white 6000k is bright. white with little Bit of blue and 8000k is blue I currently have those.. You will need an HID KIT both for your low beams and fog lights which mean two sets of ballast and HID bulbs..

9006 HID KIT for low beams
H10 hid kit for your fog lights

I suggest going with a 35 watt ballast because if you go with 55 watt or higher you will need to get a RELAY HARNESS so the power can be drawn directly from the battery and mot affect your OEM wiring.

You would need 4 ballasts, one for each bulb as noted. Yes on yours you can do just the low and fogs. I did not do the fogs.

I suggest going with a 35 watt ballast because if you go with 55 watt or higher you will need to get a RELAY HARNESS so the power can be drawn directly from the battery and mot affect your OEM wiring.

55 is also too much for a standard housing unless he is willing to covert to projectors. 55 watt ballasts cause excessive retractions with a reflector housing.

Personally I went with 6,000 and they are way too rice looking for my taste. I've got 5,000s coming as I am very unhappy with the result of these. My friend has 8,000 on his cobra and he hates them especially after seeing my 6,000s. I would go 5,000 unless you want to look like every honda civic rolling around town.

If you really want them to look jam up then look into a projector conversion as well.

Does upgrading your lights actually improve your vision? Are these the lights that blind everyone driving towards you?

If my expy survives it's current visit to the shop I was thinking about doing some fun upgrades. I also posted in the taillight section.

I see these things all the time - but never a description of the advantages?

yes they are brighter and illuminate more area...do they blind ppl? guess it depends on individual sensitivity to light...i see ppl with them all the time and doesnt bother me one bit...others on here go off on a rage saying they are blinded by them...i have no probs with them in other vehicles approaching me...but they are the best thing since motor vehicles...

i have a couple of pics in my photo album u can check out...i have since them retrofitted my headlights with projectors...for style more than functionality...85 watt 6000k bulbs...my fogs are 35w 9145 HID bulbs/ballast from ebay

one of the 1st mods i will do on any vehicle that doesnt have HIDs...
